I'm guessing that since you guys are out of parts for that model, my camera is not the only one. Either the camera is finished it's shut-down procedure, sometimes this causes the screen to flash, or it's reading the change in card state (There to gone!) And causing a slight flight. While it shouldn't cause problems other than possibly corrupting your SD Card, I'd definitely say flip it to off and wait ~5 seconds or so before popping the card out. You can also eject the battery tray; no need to pull it all the way out, just press the button so the batteries won't be making contact, this will ensure that no power is still left running around in the system.

Thanks for your response. I did check and I went up to the cam and shut it off and walked away for a few minutes. When I checked the SD card i had a video of me walking away so I guess the cam keeps working until it is done either taking a picture or video.
